Description
Today is gonna' be a hot one, said John to his sister Beth. Both of them wanted to go swimming. Sorry kids but we, both, have to go to work, said their dad. Can you ask Grandma and Grandpa, asked Beth. Okay, I'm going to find out if they are busy. They are never busy said John with a smile thinking of Grandma's pool. As dad made this important call, he turned to the kids and told them that Grandpa is coming to pick you up. John and Beth, nine and ten years old, waited for only ten minutes and they could hear the car turning in to the driveway. Did you bring some drinks, candy, and sweets? Sorry guys only healthy snacks and cold water. What else would you expect? he asked and gave both a hug. I'm going to be first in the water, said John. Of course, you are. You already have your swimming trunks on, I have to go and change, said Beth. Arriving at the pool, John was first in the water. When Beth and Grandpa looked at John, they thought first he was kidding, he was hitting the water with both his hands, like he wanted to get a good hold. Then he sank down, when Beth and Grandpa run to help him, he was nowhere to be seen, They could see the bottom, but no sign of John. When John got his head above water again, he was in a small forest pond with cold water. Getting out, he saw a small person standing close by. Who are you, and where am I? I am an elf, the master of this forest, said this small man. I cannot send you back, so I'll send you to someone that can, said this elf master and with his wand, he made a wind sled, that was supposed to get John to the person that could send him back to Grandma's pool. Sitting in this wind sled that carried him fast through the forest, he was soon sitting on the ground when his wind sled stopped working. Did my brother send you here, asked another small man. Yes, sir, the elf master sent me here because you, he said, can send me back to Grandma's pool. This little man told me that he was the elf master, and he with his magic wand stopped several dangerous snakes from attacking John. This nice elf after he had given John a nice present, sent him back to the pool, where Beth and his Grandparents were still looking into the water.
